Egypt — where scale was learned before the budgets got large enough to hide mistakes.

Context

Egypt’s event market in this period demanded results without the supplier depth, budget headroom or infrastructure that Gulf projects later provided. Corporate and government-facing events ran on relationships, improvisation and personal accountability. Multi-market activations across the GCC added coordination complexity on top of it.

My responsibility

I began in PR and event delivery with Egypt Event, managing corporate and government-facing events and supporting PR strategy and media relations. I then moved to Event Republic as Senior Project Manager, directing regional activations and building operational systems across Egypt and GCC markets.

The delivery system

  • Managed large-scale programmes and multi-market activations across Egypt and the GCC.
  • Negotiated supplier agreements and improved cost efficiency in a market with thin margins.
  • Built regional vendor networks that later supported Gulf delivery.
  • Ran integrated campaigns that increased attendance and media reach.
  • Mentored junior project managers and strengthened delivery practice across the team.

Results

  • Attendance and media reach increased through integrated campaign delivery
  • Regional vendor networks established across Egypt and GCC markets
  • Delivery practice strengthened and junior project managers mentored

Lesson retained

The strongest event teams solve problems before guests know they existed. That was learned early, on projects small enough to survive learning it.
